LIONS HOST ANNUAL PANCAKE BREAKFAST

ONEIDA >> The Oneida-Sherrill Lions Club’s annual pancake breakfast returns on Nov. 6, offering not only a meal cooked and served by the Lions and Leo Club members themselves, but also the chance to help out a great cause at the same time.

The menu includes pancakes, locally-made real maple syrup, sausage, applesauce, orange juice, and coffee. For dessert, guests are invited to visit their bake sale. Proceeds from the event benefit the Lions’ projects in improving the lives of sight and hearing challenged persons both locally and all over the world, and there will be a 50/50 raffle to further benefit the outreach.

The breakfast will be Nov. 6 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Owl’s Nest at 130 Vanderbilt Ave. in Oneida, but guests should use their Oneida Street entrance. Tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for kids under 12 and senior citizens, and available from any chapter member or at the door.

19TH CENTURY BASE BALL RETURNS!

Hi Lions,

Baseball fans will enjoy the next speaker -- it's Mike Velapoldi of Sherrill, who is starting a 19th century barehanded base ball team to take on the legacy of the immortal Bouckville Summits. It's this Tuesday so let's show him a great turnout!

Well, except for me, because I have a budget meeting with the Clinton School Board that night. Enjoy!
