LIONS CLUB MINUTES NOV. 8, 2011
The regular monthly meeting of the Oneida-Sherrill Lions Club was called to order by King Lion Pat Fearon at 7 p.m. at the Madison House Restaurant with these Lions in attendance: Jerry Baker, Hal Chamberlain, Ernie Giraud, Mike Jaquays, Charlie Leclau, Brenda Manaseri, Ed Miller, Leif Nicolaisen, John Perretta, Joe Shay, and Bob Visalli, plus our perpetual guest Sukosh Fearon and speaker Jennifer Milligan from the Sherrill-Kenwood Free Library. LION MIKE gave the secretary’s report, and it was accepted as submitted. He also told the Lions the photo of most of our teen helpers at the pancake breakfast appeared in the Oneida Dispatch on Nov. 7, and he will send letters to their guidance counselors.
HONEST BOB reported on the pancake breakfast, saying we were tentatively expecting $2426 in net profit, mostly from the ad sales, and $121.50 from the bake sale.
LION LEIF suggested we invite the teenagers who helped us to a meeting or the spaghetti dinner, and the Lions agreed.
KL PAT read thank you letters from Leo Matzke from the Madison County Childrens Camp and from student Trevor Haskell for donations.
KL PAT asked the group to start thinking about the after-holidays get-together and where we would like to go. HONEST BOB offered to head it up, and the Lions decided on a price range around $20-25 a person.
JENNIFER gave an overview of the offerings for the sight and hearing impaired at the library, and a preview of what we might see in the future. The Lions presented her with a $500 donation.
The 50/50 awarded $18 to LION ED.
The clip tray brought in $13.15.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
